2012 Summer Begins

Posted by jerysylf on July 8, 2012 at 5:05 PM

Dear Friends and Family,

Our God is amazing. During the last quarter we have been seeing him work in amazing ways. As many of you know summer is our busiest time of the year because we do our bigger evangelistic camps. Apart from it being the busiest time of the year it is when the Lord really stretches us as his children. We are very short staffed over here with only 6 families working full time the Lord really shows up and does some amazing things.

Sylvia has been very busy doing design projects for all of the camp directors and for the camp in General. She did some amazing t-shirts this year and a lot of other things as well as doing all the L'Arcada promotional material. She balances thiswith being an amazing mom to Shania. I have been putting together the whole Social media side of L'Arcada and writing up procedure for that as well as starting to get the camp website together with the help of David Wilcox a guy that has been helping L'Arcada a ton with anything web related. Could not have done it without him. I also got put in charge of the "Multimedia" area which involves all the Video and Photography during the year and camps. I am organizing all of that area and putting together procedure on how that will be working so everything is getting taken care of and backed up etc.

My Father always said that the Lord will test our flexibility and challenge us in different ways during our life. I really noticed that this quarter. A couple months ago I was told that L'Arcada had not found a Director for our English Camp and that I, alongside another person that has helped at L'Arcada in the past, would have to co-direct the camp. My schedule was full of stuff involving my main area of New Technologies and Multimedia and I was also in mid planning to assist in co directing our Native American Camps. We got together and prayed and just started to work. Two weeks ago the camps started. I wanted to send out a prayer letter before that but we just did not have time so sending it now. The English camp went amazingly well. The staff were amazing and the campers seemed to open up to the councilors the very first day. This was the Lord. We sort of stood by and saw our God take a program that we did not have a lot of time to prepare and do miracles with it. We finished the camp looking up and praising Him for an amazing week. Sylvia and my Parents where very encouraging to me during this time. I love seeing our Christ work.

What do we have to look forward to next? Well I will be co directing our Native American camps which starts Monday the 9th and lasts 4 weeks. We are very short on volunteer staff during this these upcoming camps and are praying a lot for some more to sign up to serve. Sylvia has a lot of design work to do for different areas of the camp and it is hard to find time since I am out at camp and unable to help her with Shania much. As always though we are trusting our Lord. Thanks so much for all your prayers and support and interaction on Facebook, etc with us. It is very encouraging to us.

Here are our Prayers and Praises.

Praises:

English Camp went well. We are so thankful for the various churches in the US that sent Teams over to help us use English

as a way to share the Gospel. You were all amazing!

Shania is registered to start school in September. Its a praise because of all the paperwork we had to go through to get her in. The Lord really helped with all of this.

During English camp we had one of the groups of campers come up and grab bibles by themselves out of a box and start

reading through them. These are kids that have never heard the gospel before. The Lord was working so strongly during

that camp.

My sister Tami and brother -in-law Alex are hear to visit and serve at the camp. It is such a blessing to see Alex and her

again. We love them so much and it is Alex's first time visiting Spain. I think he likes it :)

Sylvia and I praise the Lord almost daily for all of you fighting the battle in different parts of the world. Thanks so much for

your prayers and support and we praise the Lord for such an amazing support family.

Prayers:

Pray for Shania as she will be starting school this September here in Spain. We got denied entrance to the school right next

to us and she was placed in one that is a good distance away which makes it hard to juggle schedules but it is the Lords will

and we will see the neat plan He has for her at this School.

Pray for my trip to the States the end of this year. We are still raising support and so will be visiting a lot of churches and

people as well as catching up with some of you in person. I can't wait :)

Pray for the Camps at L'Arcada. This summer many kids will have a week to hear about what Jesus did for them. Pray that

the Holy Spirit will work and break through walls and Pray that the Enemy will be bound and not be able to keep them from

hearing a clear presentation of the Gospel. We are in a Spiritual Battle! Ephesians 6:10-13

For his Glory alone
